  • Truth is... they could just simply freeze spending at current levels for 10 years guaranteed and it would solve most fiscal problems the State and Federal government are having. It would also allow sufficient time for the country to adjust gradually.

  • I think I have lived long enough to know that Congress will attempt to find someway of funnelling cash to CA. A simple earmark amendment attached to some unrelated but guaranteed to pass bill will probably be all it takes.

  • Sorry lady, but in order to boost the Presidents re-election chances there is going to have to be some lying about the employment numbers. Can't make the economy look like its improving if they actually counted the number of unemployed, including those that have simply given up looking.

  • Remember, WHEN California starts asking for a Federal bailout, make sure everyone knows about it. The rest of the country should be flooding their congressmen with phone calls letting them know we won't stand for bailing out a failed state, who refuses to cut their own spending.

  • Its one of MSNBCs moronic stories in their war on fat people. What I find MORE ironic is all those thin skinny types who spent their life eating tasteless foods in order to live a long healthy life only to DIE in a plane crash.

  • What exactly is the point? How many skinny people walk away from airline crashes? I think its generally accepted by the general population that if your plane crashes you will most likely DIE regardless of whether your seat will support that extra 20 pounds.
